As quarantine put a hold on life and time felt as if it stood still, school. began again and time and life sped up to full speed.....possibly even faster. I'm still trying to catch my breath in this marathon we all keep running; planning for an unknown future and preparing for situations that may or may not even happen.
So when my oldest asked to go to the beach for his birthday, we were ecstatic to plan a surprise trip for celebrating and some fresh air (and of course some sand between our toes). For three days, we roamed the Michigan beaches from sunrise to sunset. For three days...I prayed, loved, and refocused my attention on what's important.
Three days.
Jonah was inside the belly of a whale for three days and three nights. (Jonah 1:17)
Jesus rose after three days ( 1Corinthians 15:4)
The miracles that can happen in three days....even if it's a refreshment of the body, mind, and soul.
Take the three days. Wander the world, break away from the pressures of society and life. Watch the sun come up and watch the sun go down. Breathe. Cherish each moment and memory made.
I use to feel guilty for not working or being busy at every moment of my life. I also held back my passion for life in fear of others being afraid of my over the top personality. If there's any good from the pandemic it's that I've learned to not make plans for my plans, to take the chances and jump at new opportunities, to be bold in prayer for new doors to open and to not be afraid to get out of my comfort zone. It's taught me to have the fear of being mediocre and the ambition to make an impact on those around me. It's taught me to let go of what others think about my loud way of living and my "too big" personality. It made me realize that it's okay if I'm too much for you. It taught me that being me is beautiful and being you, is even more beautiful.
I dare you to not only live but to live boldly. Take the adventure, love a little harder, forgive a little easier, hug a little harder, smile a little more, spread kindness through your actions and your words, take the risk, live loudly, sit still, take a minute to watch the sunrise and sunset, but most of all .......live with boldness.
